i wish there was a superhero comic series about angela davis. that way i could’ve grown up thinking “i want to be like angela davis when i grow up.”
yes, and yes.
we write these up for every party we have and now we can make printed copies! this design was inspired by the tuff luck deli. feel free to print and use.
I really like this. I kinda want to add ‘snitching’ to the list, but that might be over the top
My mom helped me make this really cool buttpack over winter break, I figured I’d share it.
How we made it:
We got ballistic nylon and marine grade vinyl, buckles and some trim. There were three parts to cut, the back (which included the flap)(5X9 inches, with a rounded end for the flap, the gusset(2.5X16 inches), and the front piece (5x4 inches), then the flap that attaches to a belt.
We sewed the vinyl and the nylon into the pack shape separately, leaving about 3/8ths seam allowance when we cut out the patterns. we darted the corners on the front piece, and the back piece. Then, we sewed the gusset to the back piece, then sewed the front piece. After we had two separate pieces sewn, we dropped the vinyl inside the nylon, and sewed them together on the flap and along the top of the pocket. Then we just lined the flap and outer pocket with a red liner thing we found at the fabric store. after that, we just sewed the belt loop and the straps/buckles onto the bag! It was surprisingly easy, but the sewing machine was very finicky with the thick fabric and thick thread. Overall, it cost roughly $11 to make!
